What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin treatment designed to improve the appearance and health of your skin. We use a device with tiny shallow needles to essentially pierce/puncture fine holes into the skin's surface, creating "micro injuries" or "micro trauma". These micro injuries stimulate your skin's natural healing process, which boosts collagen and elastin production - two key proteins that keep your skin firm, smooth and youthful.
Benefits:
- Improves fine lines and wrinkles
- Improvement in overall skin tone and texture (pigmentation)
- Minimizes enlarged pores
- Improves acne scars
- Increased product absorption
- Overall skin rejuvenation
- Reduces the appearance of stretch marks
What can you expect during your treatment?
We recommend a consultation before you book your appointment to discuss your area/s of concern. A topical numbing cream is applied to give you the most comfortable experience. The actual micro-needling process usually takes about 30 minutes depending on the area being treated. Afterward, your skin may look and appear red - like a mild sunburn. The redness can take anything from 2 - 3 days to go away. During this time your skin will feel dry and tight and skin will start to flake. We encourage this process as we want new skin to appear. This process can take up to 7 days. It's important to follow aftercare instructions to achieve best results.
How many treatments will you need?
You'll often see improvements after one microneedling treatment but we recommenda series of 3 - 6 sessions especially when treating deeper issues like wrinkles and scarring spaced 4 - 6 weeks apart.
